Collaborative Consumption
I believe YOUR JOURNEY MATTERS! On our journeys, we often get stuck in our own thoughts and inner self-defeating speeches. Stop. You don’t have to make this journey alone. And you don’t have to spend big bucks to receive help.
Let me be clear. This is not counseling. This is not therapy. Sometimes we need the help of those gifted professionals. But other times, we just need an objective thought partner or friend to walk with us through a confusing patch of the journey.
If you are like me, you are asking – What does this cost?
Your Journey Matters uses a type of collaborative consumption model.* In short, you decide what incubator opportunities you want to participate in. Then you decide what those opportunities are worth to you. YOU decide how to best collaborate for these services. Finances will not stop you from moving forward on your journey.

What? Huh? This is quirky. (Yes! I love quirky and inclusive processes.)
Here are some examples of how YJM’s collaborative consumption process works.

Examples
1. Sasha is over scheduled. The only time she would have to connect with someone would be late at night or early in the morning. Sasha chose to connect with an author and an independent bookstore. She ordered the book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg (recommended on the YJM Bookshelf) from an independently owned bookstore. She reads a few pages late at night before falling to sleep. Sasha’s journey is empowering herself, as well as supporting the author of the book and the bookstore owner. Her journey matters!
2. Michelle is nearing that empty nest stage of life. She has a full-time job but wonders what is coming next in her life. Michelle meets with a thought partner once a month to talk about her next options. Michelle chose the collaborative consumption option of hosting an online party with Trades of Hope. Trades of Hope is a non-profit empowering women out of poverty, abuse, trafficking and despair. She and her invited friends will virtually shop for jewelry, gifts, and more. Michelle’s journey is helping SO MANY women ( herself, Trades of Hope party consultant, her friends, and the women around the world who she is helping out of poverty. Her journey matters!
3. Amy is a college student who feels energized by the YES facebook posts. She has chosen to connect with Your Journey Matters by liking the facebook page and sharing the empower quotes with her friends. This is Amy’s first tentative step to connect. She hopes to collaborate with Your Journey Matters in the future.
4. Gabrielle is a successful non-profit executive. She attends one of the zoom YJM Chapter Chats. Occasionally, she and a thought partner meet at a friend’s new coffeehouse to discuss her next possible steps.. Gabrielle engages in two collaborative consumption options; supporting a local women’s owned businesses and donating online to support a non-profit organization outside her area. Gabrielle’s journey involves collaborating with her thought partner concerning her future while helping her friend launch a coffeehouse and supporting the work of a non profit. Her journey matters!
